South coast-based Hendy Group has appointed Simon Bottomley as its new chief operating officer.
Bottomley has spent over 25 years in leadership roles in the motor retail sector, including four years as COO at Hendy Group between 2018 and 2022.
Reporting to CEO Paul Hendy, his appointment is the latest addition to the Hendy Board. Last month Tim Isaacs joined as non-executive chairman.
Bottomley replaces Duncan McPhee who has moved to head up Athenea.
“Simon is very familiar to the Hendy Group, has a proven track record and will be an invaluable addition to the senior leadership team.
“We look forward to welcoming him back to team Hendy,” commented Paul Hendy, Chief Executive.
“We thank Duncan for his contribution to the business and wish him all the best for his future endeavours.”
Bottomley added: “It is a great pleasure to be returning to Hendy, a business I know well and have been proud to help grow. Having previously supported the group through a period of transformation, I look forward to bringing that experience to bear once again.”
Hendy Group represents more than 22 automotive brands across over 60 locations along the south of England. It has been in business for more than 165 years.
