Big Motoring World has acquired a brownfield site in Coventry that will be transformed into a used car supermarket, due to open in Q1 2027.
The site, which will become Big Motoring World’s 12th used car supermarket in the UK, has been unoccupied for over three years and its re-opening will lead to the creation of more than 100 new local jobs.
The new Coventry site will have capacity for more than 550 used vehicles across its 11-acre outdoor display space.
Once fully operational, the facility will employ people across a diverse array of roles, including sales, aftersales, administration and finance, vehicle preparation, logistics and customer support.
Laurence Vaughan, CEO at Big Motoring World, said: “The launch of our new Coventry site becomes a key facet in our growth strategy and will deliver significant earnings growth and shareholder value in the years ahead.
“Our new management team has achieved a great deal in the last two and a half years. We have more than doubled the size of the business and its trading profits, while introducing a much more sophisticated data-led business model that places the customer at the heart of what we do.
“We’re particularly proud of the enormous improvements in our culture, which recognises the huge importance of our human capital. We’ve nearly halved staff turnover, while at the same time growing our overall headcount.”
