Warranty Solutions Group (WSG) has revealed the UK’s most reliable SUV crossovers.

The analysis, based on warranty claims made between May 2025 and April 2026 on policies registered during the same period, found that Toyota’s CH-R delivered the strongest reliability performance of any mainstream SUV crossover in the UK market.

The Toyota CH-R recorded a claim rate of 4.38%, alongside an average repair bill of £481.55.

The MG ZS ranked second with a claim rate of 10.24%, while the SEAT Arona placed third at 10.71%.

The Toyota CH-R emerged as the standout performer in WSG’s crossover reliability rankings, recording the lowest warranty claim rate at just 4.38% and lower-than-average repair costs, averaging £481.55 per claim.

The MG ZS had average repair cost of £424.44, making the ZS an attractive ownership proposition for used car buyers.

The SEAT Arona also ranked among the UK’s most reliable crossover models, with a claim rate of 10.71%.

WSG believes the Arona’s strong performance reflects growing consumer demand for smaller, lower-complexity crossover vehicles that still deliver practicality and everyday usability, while its average repair bill of £416.31 was also one of the lowest within the entire rankings.

Across the overall SUV crossover sector analysed by WSG, the average claim rate stood at 17.02%, with an average repair bill of £521.05. Diesel injector faults, air conditioning condenser repairs and battery failures also featured among the top claims categories.

Steph Newbery, group director at Warranty Solutions Group, said: “SUV crossovers remain one of the most popular vehicle choices in the UK, but our latest claims data shows there are now very clear differences emerging between the models delivering dependable, lower-risk ownership and those generating significantly higher levels of repair activity.

“What is particularly interesting is that some of the strongest-performing vehicles are often those with simpler overall engineering and lower levels of complexity, while more advanced vehicles featuring increasingly sophisticated electronics, transmission systems and driver assistance technology are often generating much higher rates of warranty claims.

“As repair costs, labour rates and vehicle complexity continue to rise, reliability is becoming an even more important consideration for consumers purchasing used SUVs and crossovers.”
