Renault Retail Group managing director Luke Broad has welcomed the latest raft of apprentices to the dealer group.
The factory owned group recruited 19 apprentices to its business this month and had its first session at GTG Training.
Renault Retail Group is ranked 36 in the Motor Trader Top 200 Dealer Groups with annual turnover of £554.3m, employing 488 staff.
Posting on LinkedIn Broad said: “This month, we welcomed 19 apprentice technicians to Retail Renault Group UK Ltd. and it was great to join one of our cohorts at their first induction session at GTG Training today, alongside Elina Karppinen, Nick Veiga, Neil Bennett and Vanessa T..
“Technicians are the lifeblood of our business and play a crucial role in keeping our customers on the road.
“These 19 new recruits made the brilliant decision to join Retail Group and build themselves an amazing career with both their hands and their heads.
“They join at a time where our industry is changing faster than it ever has, and they’ll need to get their heads around ICE, HEV, PHEV and EV powertrains, as well as the ever growing stable of tech within our products at Renault Group.
“Apprenticeships are mega as you learn by doing, alongside people who’ve done it for years and have mastered their craft, and we’ve plenty of those at Retail Group where many of our techs have been with us for over 20 years!
“If I were leaving school again today, I’d be seriously considering an apprenticeship. I was lucky enough to go to university, but it’s hard to ignore a decent wage from day one, no debt, a recognised qualification and a skill set that’s in demand wherever you go!
