Consumers can now reserve vehicles for sale online using Apple and Google Pay though a new enhancement from iVendi.

The feature added to its reservations tool made it possible for customers to remove the car, van or motorcycle from dealer listings with just a couple of clicks on their phone.

“Successful online sales journeys are all about removing potential points of friction and this is a change we believe will have an outsized impact.

“Users of Apple and Google Pay know the technology makes buying almost any product or service online incredibly easy and the same now applies to reserving a car.

“The amount required for reservation is set by the dealer but most retailers of mainstream stock opt for £100 or less and make it fully refundable. This is a level of commitment that definitely moves the sale forward for the dealer but also feels comfortable for the buyer.

“Of course, the product is highly adaptable and we have some dealers selling cars priced well into six figures who tend to set the reservation amount at around £5,000. Again, Apple and Google Pay make the payment process easy for buyers in that sector of the market.”

The reservations tool integrates with the iVendi Platform used by dealers to manage online sales and finance, and the amounts paid online can be refunded or added to motor finance deposits as the sale progresses further.
