The diesel Land Rover Range Rover Evoque recorded the highest retail margin ever achieved in the sub-£10,000 model category (£4,050) on Dealer Auction’s Retail Margin Monitor.
The Evoque also led the chart for models retailing over £10,000, with £5,250. In the sub-£10,000 category, the Land Rover Discovery Sport followed, only £100 behind.
Dealer Auction’s marketplace director, Kieran TeeBoon, said: “The Range Rover Evoque setting a new retail margin record under £10,000 highlights the strong profitability dealers can still achieve with the right stock.
“It was also interesting to see the Mazda CX-5 delivering an outstanding performance across several categories, making it a model to watch. It’ll be interesting to see if these chart toppers can maintain this momentum and sustained demand in the months ahead.”
At brand level, Land Rover clocked the strongest margin of 2026 for models retailing under-£10,000, and also topped the over-£10,000 chart, underlining the continued high demand across the used car market.
In the sub-£10,000 model chart, the Mazda CX-5 recorded the highest Autotrader retail rating, the year’s best CAP Clean performance and nearly equalled the fastest average selling time of all time at just 24 days – only one day shy of the current record.
The Kia Sportage, Ford Kuga and Vauxhall Mokka X, also returned to the rankings, highlighting the continued popularity of practical family SUVs.
In the over-£10,000 model chart, two hybrid models – the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Qashqai – secured places in the top 10.
At manufacturer level, premium brands held strong. Mercedes-Benz demonstrated impressive consistency with its third consecutive second-place finish.
The total retail value of vehicles sold was recorded at £49.7mn, auctions ending continued at healthy levels and there was a steady flow of fresh vehicles entering the marketplace.
TeeBoon said: “Land Rover’s continued dominance across both value segments demonstrates the enduring strength of premium used vehicles, while the inclusion of two hybrid models in the over-£10,000 chart highlights the growing demand for electrified stock, which is really encouraging.
“Combined with another strong month for the platform, the market continues to show resilience and healthy dealer confidence, and it’ll be fascinating to see if these consistencies remain.”
