Dealer Auction recorded a strong Q2 2026, with a 55% Year-on-Year (YoY) increase in stock availability.
Lower buyer fees and continued improvements in speed to sell and reserve performance have supported quicker sales, stronger pricing and better returns.
Kieran TeeBoon, marketplace director at Dealer Auction, said: “Q2 follows a record-breaking Q1 and has delivered another quarter of consistent and encouraging results. The used car market outperformed seasonal expectations.
“This builds confidence in a market that’s showing signs of stability after years of volatility.
“Dealers are continuing to act decisively, and it’s particularly positive to see greater diversity in fuel types across sales as buyer demand continues to evolve.”
Demand remained consistent throughout the quarter, with the Jaguar F-Pace retaining its position at the top of the Best Buy chart for a second consecutive quarter.
Buyer engagement grew, with Dealer Auction sending more than 15.2 million intelligent stock alerts to connect dealers with the vehicles they need.
Average sold prices remained strong at £6,851, while vehicles sold via natural auction averaged 2.85 days to sale.
CAP Clean performance remained robust at 99%, highlighting continued confidence across the platform.
The average age of stock remained within the seven-year bracket at 7.7 years, while average mileage increased from 54,595 in Q1 to 66,098 miles.
Alternative fuel vehicles strengthened their position, accounting for nearly 11% of all fuel-type sales.
The Nissan Qashqai Hybrid secured fourth place in the CAP Clean ranking.
As the only AFV to feature in the top five, its performance points to growing dealer confidence in alternative fuel stock and an increasingly diverse used car market.
Dealer priorities in Q3 are expected to remain centred on securing profitable stock quickly and efficiently.
