Cameron Motor Group has opened a new £6m dealership in Perth following a fire in 2023.
The Courier reported how director Jamie Cameron received a call from a member of staff at 1 am to say the dealership was on fire.
The fire started in the parts department and it and the workshop wee destroyed.
Contamination from an old asbestos roof in the parts department meant the whole site was contaminated.
Cameron Motor Group erected a temporary showroom at land normally occupied by used cars on the other side of Dunkeld Road.
The buildings were demolished during 2024 and a new premises was completed this month.
Cameron Motor Group has dealerships for Audi, Volkswagen and Volvo in Perth.
Its Perth Audi and Cameron Motors Volkswagen showrooms are located at 166 Dunkeld Road, while our Strathmore (Volvo Perth) dealership is just a few minutes walk along the Dunkeld Road.
The family run business started with Volkswagen in 1953 and acquired the Volvo franchise in 1958. Its Volvo business is said to be the Swedish marque’s longest-serving UK dealership. Twenty years later it took on Audi.
Cameron Motor Group is ranked 141 in the Motor Trader Top 200 Dealer Groups with annual turnover of £95.8m.
