BYD has passed the significant milestone of 100,000 new car registrations in the UK. Its sales only commenced with the ATTO 3 in March 2023.
In that time, BYD UK has gone from five retailers to a network of 143 sites. Of those 100,000 units, over a third – 37,995 vehicles – were registered in H1 2026.
Bono Ge, country manager for BYD UK, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the 100,000 BYD owners who have placed their trust in us—and to the 100,000 families behind them who have welcomed BYD into their lives.
“We remain committed to delivering the very best ownership experience, supported by our nationwide network of 143 retail locations.
“At the same time, we’re excited to bring even more innovative products to the UK, including the BYD DOLPHIN G, SHARK and Ti 7, as well as the DENZA models like Z, D9, BAO 5 and Z9 GT.”
The range has expanded from one model to ten, covering everything from the Dolphin Surf to the 530PS Sealion 7 SUV-coupé.
A range of DM-i plug-in hybrid products have expanded the range further, with the first DM model, the Seal U DM-i, followed more recently by Atto 2 DM-i, Seal 6 DM-i Saloon and Touring and Sealion 5 DM-i.
The fully electric Atto 3 EVO also joined the range in 2026.
Ge said: “We’re also introducing exciting new technologies, including our groundbreaking FLASH Charging technology, to make electric mobility even more convenient for our customers.”
