Brayleys Cars founder Paul Brayley retires afer 20 years with group

Brayleys Cars announced today that founder Paul Brayley  was retiring after 20 years with the company.

In January Brayleys appointed Jose Blanco as its new CEO, replacing Brayley who took on a non-executive director role on the main board.

Brayleys said after more than 20 years of dedication and leadership in building Brayleys Cars Ltd to the business it is today, Paul Brayley has taken the decision to retire.

“Since founding the business in 2003, Paul has been instrumental in shaping its growth and success. His commitment and passion have made a lasting impact, which everyone associated with the company is incredibly grateful for. ”

Brayleys represents nine automotive brands across 30 dealerships, spanning from North of Manchester to the South of London.

Brayley said: “I am immensely proud of the Brayleys journey, and while I am sad to be leaving the business I founded, now is the time for me to retire.  I know I am leaving the company in capable hands.”

NEW CEO Blanco joined Brayleys from Europcar Mobility Group, where he served as group chief sales officer and was a member of the group executive committee.

In 2018 Dubai-based conglomerate AW Rostamani took a majority stake in the business, leading to a stream of acquisitions.

The group is now ranked 74 in the Motor Trader Top 200 Dealer Groups with annual turnover of £232.7m.
