The electric MG5 was the fastest-selling used car in the UK in August, shifting off forecourts in 21 days.
That’s the finding of CarGurus which also revealed the Vauxhall Corsa retained its status as the UK’s best-selling used car on the CarGurus platform last month.
CarGurus conducts monthly analysis of its marketplace data to identify both the models recording the highest sales volumes, and those attracting buyers the fastest, offering a regular view of changing consumer demand across the UK’s used car market.
August’s data points to continued momentum for used electrified vehicles, with the majority of fastest-selling models being either electric or hybrid.
MG made a particularly strong showing, with the MG5 taking the top spot ahead of Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y, while the MG4 and MG HS also featured in the top ten, putting three MG models among the UK’s fastest-moving used cars.
The MG5 turned in an average of 20.6 days, compared with 45.8 days a year ago, while the MG4 improved to 28.5 days from 33.4 days.
The Audi Q4 E-Tron also recorded a significant improvement versus the same period in 2025, with average days to turn falling from 51.5 days to 29.3 days, alongside an 18% drop in average price and a 181% increase in sales year-on-year.

“Seeing the MG5 move ahead of Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y is an interesting development, and reflects the strong value offered by this spacious and long-range electric car.”
