Changan UK continues to build its network of dealers in the UK following the launch of the brand in September last year with the electric SUV Deepal S07, followed by the Deepal S05 in March this year.

In just over six months, the brand has grown from its flagship showroom at Lookers’ Star City in Birmingham to a network of over 60 sites.

The network now includes Lithia, John Clark Motor Group, Allen Motor Group, Partridge of Hampshire, Sycamore Peterborough and Westaway Motors. Also on board are WLMG, Donalds Group, TJ Vickers Beechwood

Dealers undergo training at Changan UK’s Technical Excellence Centre in Birmingham.

The Birmingham sits alongside Changan’s long-standing UK research and development operations, which employees 100 engineers focused on powertrain optimisation and technology advancement.

Changan said it was working with Thatcham Research to meet British insurance and repair standards.

This collaboration covers repair methodology, parts pricing and the technical data that insurers use to set premiums, with the goal of ensuring Changan customers benefit from competitive insurance group ratings from the outset.

Nic Thomas, UK managing director, said: “Reaching 60 dealers is a landmark moment for Changan UK and a clear demonstration of our commitment to being a long-term player in the market.

“We have not just grown quickly; we have grown carefully, partnering with some of the most respected dealer groups in the country to ensure customers can experience our vehicles and receive the aftercare they deserve.

“This is not the end of the story. It is the foundation from which we will continue to build, bringing more models to market, growing our vehicle line, and deepening our relationships with both our dealer partners and UK customers.”
