Warranty Solutions Group is launching the Prep4Less programme amidst steep rise in repair costs. Research from WSG revealed a 15% increase in the cost of used car repair bills over the past year, rising to an average of £528.05 (up from £458.57 in 2023).
Supply chain disruptions caused by the global parts shortage and labour rates implemented by repairers to counteract increasing operational costs have led to this.
Darren Smith, Head of Prep4Less added: “Prep4Less is the first of its kind in the motor industry on this scale.
“By leveraging WSG’s industry expertise, exclusive supplier partnerships and purchasing power, dealers can take advantage of huge cost savings across multiple prep categories, adding tens of thousands of pounds to their bottom lines every year.
“Access to the programme is completely free for WSG dealers. What’s more, it’s incredibly simple to use – dealers simply share their requirements via a consultation with a WSG prep agent, and we’ll connect them with the relevant partner(s) who will source the parts for them.”
The programme aims to help dealers be more competitive with online retailers and large car supermarkets.
WSG findings were based on a sample of 10,000 car warranty claims paid by the firm between October 2023 and December 2024 across 20 of the UK’s volume vehicle manufacturers.
