Women in Transport will be the official Chair and sponsor of The Commercial Vehicle Show’s ‘Driven By Her’ platform.
The initiative is a part of Celebrating Every Journey (CEJ) which has been created to drive positive change by bringing in leading voices from across the industry. Driven By Her focuses on tackling the barriers that women face when entering the industry, as well as challenges with progression and remaining in the sector long-term.
Shireen Ali-Khan, Behaviour and Engagement Specialist at Women in Transport, said: “When people belong, they perform. It is that simple and that complex. With five and soon to be six generations now sharing the workplace, and women navigating each of those stages differently, the organisations that get this right will be the ones that thrive.
“Driven by Her is a great place to have that conversation. I can’t wait to unpack this at the Commercial Vehicle Show.”
Through mentoring, networking, advocacy and research, Women in Transport plays a crucial role in tackling the gender imbalances and helping more women build successful careers in a traditionally male-dominated sector.
Ali-Khan will speak during a dedicated session on the third day of the show (23 April).
She is a leading voice on workforce behaviour and engagement, with a track record of working with some of the world’s largest and most complex organisations including HS2, Crossrail, Transport for London, the Metropolitan Police and NASA.
Delivered in partnership with Clare Murphy, Head of HR at the Road Haulage Association, the session will present joint research on intergenerational workforce dynamics.
