Vertu has launched a new initiative, distributing 50,000 food collection bags to readers, customers, and local communities.

From this month, 50,000 reusable food collection bags will be available to collect at all Vertu dealerships across Scotland, including locations in Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Ayr.

Robert Forrester, CEO of Vertu, said: “The generosity we witnessed during the Vertu Food Drive was truly inspiring. It was clear that people wanted to help, so to take it a step further we decided to provide the community with a way to donate easily.

“By distributing 50,000 food collection bags, we’re creating a longer-term solution that allows more people to contribute in a meaningful way. Just picking up a bag, adding a few essential items, and dropping it off at your local foodbank can make a massive difference.”

Customers are encouraged to pick up a bag, fill it with non-perishable food items, and return it to their nearest foodbank.

Simple food items like pasta, tinned goods, and long-life milk can be lifesaving.

Some of the most needed items include canned foods (soups, vegetables, beans, tuna), pasta, rice, and cereals, UHT milk and fruit juice, tea, coffee, and biscuits.

Paige Turley, singer, TV personality, and Glasgow local, said: “Seeing first-hand how much foodbanks depend on community donations really opened my eyes. T

“The fact that Vertu is providing 50,000 bags to encourage ongoing support is incredible. If we all do a little, we can achieve a lot.”
