Vertu Motors has bolstered its board with the appointment of a retail heavy hitter Amanda Cox as an independent non-executive director.
Cox is the current chief people officer and stores director at the £1.7bn-turnover homewares retailer Dunelm Group, which has 184 stores and employs 11,000 staff.
She previously worked at Asda for 15 years in various human resource roles, latterly as vice president – people.
Before that she spent a decade with Marks & Spencer. She will sit as a member of the audit, nomination and remuneration committees.
Andy Goss, chairman of Vertu, said: “We are delighted that Amanda will be joining the Vertu board.
“She has extensive experience of UK Retail which will be an important input as we navigate the various challenges and opportunities in the retail sector moving forward.
“Her considerable experience in managing a substantial number of colleagues in her current executive role will provide important guidance to the team at Vertu.”
