EVs have been selling faster in the UK in October than any other European country, according to Indicata’s Market Watch report.

The fastest-selling used cars were all electric for the very first time. The Nissan Leaf was the UK’s fastest-selling used car in October, followed by the VW ID.3 and the Tesla Model Y, with Market Day’s Supply scores of 21.1 days, 21.7 days and 22.3 days respectively.

Dean Merritt, Indicata UK’s head of sales, said: “EVs have gradually become even better value during 2025, and this has contributed to an increased demand at a pace which is outweighing all other fuel types. It will be interesting to see whether the UK market is now able to establish a sustainable value structure for electrified vehicles.

“Overall the UK used market is now becoming more competitive as dealers fight for sales against the background of economic uncertainty. Dealers are having to adopt sharper pricing strategies to create demand as borrowing rates remain high.”

The UK reported the lowest average Market Days Supply for EVs of just 38 days, with zero emission cars continuing to rotate faster than any other powertrain.

Demand for used hybrids (HEV and PHEV) continues to grow steadily in the UK, appealing to drivers looking for a balanced mix of performance and range flexibility.
