Steven Eagell Group has partnered with Jigcar to streamline its retail vehicle movements. As a result of the trial partnership, the business made savings of over £300,000 for the year.
Jigcar identified cost savings across the retailer’s 32 Toyota and 11 Lexus locations.
Sheraz Rashid, group operations director at Steven Eagell Group, said: “Since partnering with Jigcar we have greater visibility of transport costs across the business which has increased our efficiencies and helped us control costs and make significant savings.
“Our general managers are now in a better position to factor in vehicle movements as part of the sales process and an area where costs can be saved and days to sell reduced.
“Jigcar quickly delivered quantifiable cost savings across all our retail movements, so we are looking forward to working with them to achieve what could be even bigger savings across our fleet operations.”
All retail movements are managed through the platform which builds a set of movement data for leadership to review and streamlines the process for site staff.
In terms of transportation across the Group’s network, Jigcar identified the need for fewer vetted providers who would agree to lower rates based on clear volumes. The new rates agreed are worth £300,000 to the Group on a yearly basis.
The Group is consistently achieving retail vehicle movements within two days – three days quicker than the industry average, saving £30 per day per vehicle in stock costs and reducing days to sell.
Elliott Perks, CEO of Jigcar, said: “Across the industry, dealer groups face transportation charges of up to £250 per vehicle, when that’s multiplied by thousands of vehicles the costs escalate.
“Everything we do is based around using our AI-driven platform to reduce cost per car and cost per mile to deliver bottom line savings.”
Next, the Jigcar platform will manage vehicle movements for the Group’s expanding fleet business.
