Ahead of the deadline for MOT Annual Assessments and CPD on 31st of March, the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) warns that failing to complete an MOT Annual Assessment in time results in the individual having their tester status suspended.
If this happens, the individual can no longer carry out MOTs, which can have a significant impact on business and profits.
To get their status reinstated, the individual must complete the next year’s assessment, record 3 hours of annual training, book and deliver a demonstration test with the DVSA and submit a new DBS check.
This costs money and time for the test centre, but also puts them at risk from losing customers who may well turn to the competition.
For 2025-26 the IMI has streamlined the process to provide hassle-free training.
The innovative new IMI eLearning platform simulates real-world vehicle inspections, offering immersive learning that utilises narration rather than text to deliver a more intuitive and easier to use experience.
The course is available to individuals, businesses and in batch to wholesale providers.
Those who purchase the eLearning module with the IMI annual assessment can complete the assessment immediately after training.
