The first customer examples of Lucid’s long-awaited Gravity SUV started rolling off the line on Thursday at the company’s plant in Casa Grande, Arizona.
The start of Gravity production is a crucial moment for Lucid, as it marks the electric vehicle startup’s entry into the hugely popular three-row midsize SUV segment.

Lucid has struggled with its debut model, the Air, despite the stylish sedan offering some of the best specifications of any EV on the market. Total Air deliveries for the third quarter of 2024 were just 2,781 units, and this was an increase of more than 90% compared to the same period a year ago.
The Gravity should significantly boost Lucid’s deliveries. It arrives as a 2025 model, with the first version available to order being the Gravity Grand Touring, priced from $94,900. A Gravity Touring model will be the next to launch late in 2025 and will carry a starting price of $79,900.

Though not yet confirmed, a Gravity Pure model may be introduced at some point with an even lower starting price. The Pure is the entry-level model for the Air sedan, which starts at $69,900 for the 2024 model year. All prices exclude destination charges.
The Gravity Grand Touring comes with 828 hp and a range estimated by the company to exceed 440 miles. That’s the highest range of any electric SUV.
2025 Lucid Gravity
Beyond the Gravity, Lucid is working on a compact crossover that will compete with the Tesla Model Y. It’s due in late 2026, and Lucid has hinted at a starting price below $50,000.
Lucid also has a plant in Saudi Arabia. The plant is initially being used to build semi knocked-down (partially assembled) examples of the Air at a rate of 5,000 units per year, but there are plans to expand the site later this decade to handle complete production of Lucid vehicles at a rate of 150,000 units annually. It’s possible the Gravity and the future compact crossover will also be built at the Saudi site.
