The new Kia PV5 Cargo has been named What Car? Van of the Year.
The judging panel praised Kia’s first van for its carrying ability, real-world range, driver comfort and aftercare package, including a seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty.
The PV5 Cargo was also named the Best Small Electric Van, while its PV5 Passenger sibling won Best Van-Based MPV.
As part of the 2026 Van and Commercial Vehicle Awards, What Car? named winners across nine categories, ranging from small and large vans to pick-up trucks and car-derived vans.
The new Volkswagen Transporter took the Best Medium Van title, with its Volkswagen E-Transporter electric sibling winning Best Medium Electric Van. Meanwhile, the list of winners also included the Ford Ranger (Best Pick-up Truck) and Toyota Land Cruiser Commercial (Best Car-Derived Van).
What Car? editor Steve Huntingford said: “The new Kia PV5 combines the payload capabilities businesses will expect, with the sort of ease of use and long-distance comfort they might not.
“Plus, it’s backed up by one of the most comprehensive aftercare packages around, providing long-term reassurance for operators. And yet, despite all of this, it’s very well priced.
