Software group Jumptech is aiming to accelerate EV business for dealers by streamlining the home charger installation process for EVs.
Its platform connects dealers directly with installers, energy retailers, and charger makers through its single, digital platform. It is currently working with Lookers, providing its services for used cars at a number of dealerships. On the OEM side it is working with VW, Audi and Ford.
And it is planning to move into the independent sector with the platform, targeting supermarkets with a £799 all-in package for a home charger installation, including kit with a potential Buy Now Pay Later option.
The Jumptech sales journey works like this. EV sales enquiry leads are passed directly from the dealers lead management system to Jumptech. The lead is passed to Jumptech’s charging or energy partner.
Car sales staff are kept informed of the customer journey. This leads to installation and commissioning which are carried out in a systematic way. And dealers can track the installer performance against agreed targets.
“The lead comes into the platform, it gets passed to one of our charging partners. So that might be a utility, it might be a large installer. They keep the dealer updated and informed on the journey whilst they’re taking the customer through the home survey, the quote, the scheduling, the commissioning and getting the charger all installed. And then we track the performance of those installers to make sure that’s a good journey, said Jumptech founder and CEO Phil Nunn.
Jumptech consultant and former Norton Way CEO Jason Cranswick added: “For consumers it is understanding how to be EV ready.
“So, if they’ve not got a charger at home, there is the dilemma of what charger should I have? What energy provider should I go with? How can I make sure that I’ve got a charger at home ready? There seems to be a material point of friction within the sale of journey. And I think that’s where Jumptech provides a seamless digital journey,” he said.
