Hendy Automotive has appointed ex-Lookers finance director Martin Reay as operations finance director, reporting to chief finance officer Jonathan Moritz.
Reay, a chartered accountant who trained at PricewaterhouseCoopers, has spent the majority of his career in automotive retail.
Hendy has seen a flurry of activity in recent months and a restructuring. It recently strengthened its main board with the appointment of former Marshall CEO Daksh Gupta as non-executive chairman.
He was joined by new non-executive directors Michael Buxton who used to be president of Cox Automotive and Nigel Farrell, a partner in law firm Farrells Legal Services.
Duncan McPhee was also appointed as a director after joining the group as chief operating officer last October.
Moritz said: “Martin joins our operations board with many years of insight in automotive retail. We look forward to working together to steer the group’s next chapter.”
Hendy Automotive is ranked in the top 20 listings of the UK’s biggest dealer groups with a 2024 turnover exceeding £1bn.
It has operated in the south of England for over 165 years and currently represents 22 automotive brands at numerous locations across the south coast.
