Hendy Group is supplying the  Southampton Marathon 2025 with course vehicles as part of a renewed sponsorship agreement.

There will also be a team of Hendy runners participating in the event, which takes place on 6 April, to raise funds for the company’s own charity, Hendy Foundation.

Hendy’s sponsorship is the latest stage in a 16-year collaboration with ReesLeisure, the organisers of the ABP Southampton Marathon, showcasing a shared commitment to supporting health and wellbeing in the local community.

This year, 11 ‘Team Hendy’ colleagues will tackle a variety of distances on race day, including the marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K.

Funds raised will further aid Hendy Foundation’s mission to make a lasting difference in the areas where Hendy Group operates.

Hendy Foundation has been making a significant impact across the South of England since its inception in 2019, granting over £350,000 to more than 200 local organisations.

“Southampton has played a crucial part in Hendy’s 165-year history – it is where the business first started selling cars, and the city is now home to six of our dealerships,” said Mark Busby, director of commercial operations at Hendy.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of this community-driven, mass-participation event, with Hendy vehicles assisting with event organisation and transporting the all-important race timer.

“This partnership reinforces our long-standing links with ReesLeisure, and we’re excited about how we can build the profile of the marathon together. Good luck to all those taking part!”

Frazer Cook, service manager at Hendy Ford Fareham, said: “I took part in the Southampton Marathon last year and absolutely loved it. It was both challenging and fun, but knowing it was all for a great cause made it even more rewarding. I’m excited to be running again this year as part of Team Hendy, supporting Hendy Foundation and making a difference in our local community.”
