Chery International to launch Lepas in the UK joining Chery, Jaecoo and Omoda

Chery International confirmed today that Lepas as the fourth brand joining its growing family of automotive marques in the UK.

Chery International, the largest exporter of cars from China, has built momentum in the UK with the launch of Omoda UK in August 2024, Jaecoo UK in January 2025 and Chery UK in Summer 2025.

The biggest success for the brand so far is Jaecoo which 28,232 cars in the UK last year, according to SMMT figures. In second place was Omoda with 19,855 sales and market share of 0.98% and Chery had sales of 5,517 and market share of 0.27%. The combined total is 2.65%

The Lepas launch plans were revealed during January’s group retailer conference for Omoda, Jaecoo and Chery.

The UK team will reveal initial launch plans in the coming weeks, including the first Lepas model scheduled to go on sale.

Autocar has reported that Lepas will offer the L4 and L6 crossovers  with combustion, plug-in hybrid and battery-electric powertrains.

It added that both are based on the same T1X modular platform as the Omoda 5, Jaecoo 5 and Jaecoo 7.
