Malcolm Fryer, the man responsible for fleet sales at BYD for the past two years has moved to head up the Chinese brand’s remarketing and fleet operations.
Motor Trader does not have a breakdown for fleet sales within BYD but in total the group sold 51,422 cars in the UK last year, up 485% year on year.
Posting on LinkedIn he said: “After two and half years of building BYD UK’s fleet sales team from the ground up and am delighted to announce I am now moving to head up remarketing and fleet operations.
“I am immensely proud of the quality of the fleet and rental share we have achieved and the significant contribution to help put BYD well and truly on the map in the UK automotive landscape.
A huge thank you to the BYD fleet team and our customers for your magnificent support.
“My ‘new pastures’ will have a familiar look as I focus on the part of the industry that I have enjoyed the most during my career and am looking forward developing BYD’s and our retailers remarketing capability and scale.
“Finally a big thank you to Bono Ge for having the faith in hiring me into BYD (when we had one car and 3 retailers!) and to Steve Beattie for his ongoing support.
