Big Motoring World, one of the UK’s largest independent car supermarkets, set a new record for its unit sales in Q1.

The business achieved over 18,300 used vehicle transactions across its 10 sites nationwide, a dramatic 25% uplift year-on-year.

Laurence Vaughan, CEO at Big Motoring World, said: “These outstanding results reflect the huge efforts made by people at all levels in our organisation to transform how we operate.

“From increased efficiency in vehicle preparation to the delivery of an improved customer journey, every element of Big Motoring World is being enhanced to maximise output and results.

“We are determined to become the best used car retailer in the UK by offering the best choice, best value and best quality in the sector.”

The business also set successive new single-month sales records in January, February and March, and for the first time two of its sites exceeded 1,000 sales within a single month.

In Q1, Big Motoring World’s battery electric vehicle transactions represented 26% of total unit sales and a 79% increase over the number sold in Q1 2025.
