Startline Motor Finance has been named as “one to watch” in the 2024 Best Companies for Work For lists. Scores for the business included wellbeing (67%), ‘My Manager’ (82%) and personal growth (77%).
The business was named among the leading employers in the financial section of the awards.
Paul Burgess, CEO at Startline Motor Finance, said: “In recent times, we’ve worked very hard at increasing our levels of workplace engagement with the aim of creating a healthy, happy workforce which is well-aligned with our corporate objectives.
“Earlier this year, in response to these efforts, we were granted the Best Companies accreditation and are now very pleased to be further recognised with this ‘one to watch’ award.
“Creating and maintaining a high quality team is crucial to our future success and this kind of third party approval helps us attract and retain the best people.”
Startline has implemented initiatives to support its staff and encourage employee engagement.
This includes the training of mental health first aiders, provision of the Calm meditation app, and partnerships with Sanctus and Vercida for mental health coaching and diversity and inclusion training respectively.
In addition, the Startline Academy provides personal development plans aligned with corporate objectives.
Mandy Miller, head of human resources, added: “Our latest Best Companies Index score, where we ask staff questions about how they feel when it comes to working for Startline, showed strong increases in engagement and placed us highly when benchmarked against companies of our size and type.
“However, we’re not standing still and have plans for a range of further initiatives for 2025 that are designed to push further forward in this crucial area. We very much want to be the employer of choice in our region and sector of business.”
