Arnold Clark has donated £10,500 to local charities across the UK.

Six branches took part in the company’s Token Drop Charity initiative which invites customers to vote for their preferred local cause by placing a token into one of three charity boxes in-branch.

Russell Borrie, Chief Executive Officer at Arnold Clark, said: “We’re proud to support local charities through our Token Drop initiative. #

“It’s a meaningful way to involve our customers in giving back and ensuring funding goes to the causes that matter most in their communities.

“We remain committed to supporting communities across the UK and working alongside customers and local organisations to create a positive, lasting impact.”

The participating branches were Inverness Hyundai / OMODA / JAECOO, Rutherglen Volkswagen / BYD, Grangemouth Hyundai, Wakefield Motorstore, Chesterfield Motorstore and Wolverhampton Motorstore.

At the end of the voting period, the charities selected by staff at each location receive funding based on the number of tokens collected.

In the latest round, first place received £1,000, with second and third place awarded £500 and £250 respectively.

Among the charities supported was Promise Dreams in Wolverhampton, which works to make a difference to children who are seriously or terminally ill.

Nikki Yeomans, Charity Manager at Promise Dreams, said: “We were absolutely delighted to be selected as part of the community Token Drop at our local branch. As a very small charity with just two employees, we rely heavily on the generosity of organisations and the public.

“We are incredibly grateful for the £1,000 donation, which will go directly towards funding a dream for a very deserving child and creating precious memories for their family.”

Claire Kennedy, Corporate Fundraiser at Strathcarron Hospice, added: “As an independent hospice charity, we rely on the generosity of local people and businesses to fund our specialist palliative and end-of-life care, provided free of charge both in our hospice and in people’s homes.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who voted and helped make this donation possible.”
