Alan Day Motor Group has won The Business Contribution Award for its work with children with disabilities.
The award, in association with the City of London Corporation, was presented to Alan Day MD Paul Tanner at the London Sport Awards with Sarries RFC.
Tanner said: “I’m so incredibly proud to have won The Business Contribution Award for our partnership with the Saracens Foundation.
“This marks our 10th year of involvement and over that time we’ve helped change so many lives. Personally, I’ve made some of the most beautiful memories of my life through this very special project, surrounded by so many amazing people. Here’s to the next 10 years. ”
The Award recognises the contribution of commercial organisations to community physical activity and sport through practical support, advice/mentorship, collaboration and investment.
A group of young people, aged 13-24, attend touch rugby training sessions on the first team pitch at the Saracens StoneX stadium in Barnet.
The citation said: “Alan Day Motor Group has been a steadfast partner in transforming the lives of young people with disabilities through the Sarries RFC programme.
“For over a decade, their generous funding and unwavering support have enabled the Saracens Foundation to offer young people with disabilities aged 14 to 24 the opportunity to engage in physical activity, develop social skills, and build lasting friendships.”
As well as financial backing and providing essential resources, such as a new kit and equipment, Alan Day employees have regularly volunteered at sessions.
The Group’s support has also allowed participants to gain work experience and access paid employment opportunities.
