UpShift, a specialist automotive search marketing agency, has unveiled the Dealership League Table, a performance tracker for dealer online search.

It monitors four million organic visits a month across the top 100 UK dealer groups and 35 car brands.

Evans Halshaw grew search visits by 31% year on year (+88,875 monthly visits) to reach 374,293, drawing level with Lookers (375,503 visits) at the top of the overall UK league.

Regional BMW specialists beating national giants: Halliwell Jones grew its BMW search visibility by 72% in a single year to capture third place overall (33,748 visits), overtaking Sytner (30,736 visits), while Stratstone retains the top spot.

Glyn Hopkin winning the BYD search race: Glyn Hopkin rose from zero BYD search traffic in late 2025 to take the number one spot nationally (5,242 monthly visits), reducing Arnold Clark’s share of BYD dealer searches from 34% down to 13%.

Specialist groups are securing dominant market share for individual luxury and volume brands, led by H.R. Owen (75% of Bentley search), Dick Lovett (43% of Porsche search), and Steven Eagell (31% of Toyota and Lexus search).

Drawing on 19 months of accumulated data between February 2025 and August 2026, the initial findings from the Dealership League Table expose major shifts across the UK automotive dealership sector.

“We specifically designed this tool for marketing specialists and brand managers within dealerships who look after specific franchises, giving them that instant, boardroom-level presentation at a glance.

“The data makes clear that having the largest physical network no longer guarantees online dominance.

“As an example, BYD’s ascent is rapid, driven by aggressive retail expansion, and it is creating entirely new search demand rather than just fighting for legacy brands’ long-term visibility on search.”
