Jeep hasn’t sold the Renegade in the United States since 2023, and it exited Europe in 2025. The automaker announced in 2024 that the next-generation model would return in 2027 as an electric vehicle.
Back in May, during the company’s investor day, when it made Jeep a key brand to its future success, the auto conglomerate teased a mysterious new model. It provided no information beyond a front three-quarter image of a boxy, high-riding SUV.
Jeep still hasn’t said what it was, but it has revealed that its European lineup will grow with two additional small SUVs. They are expected to measure around the same length as the outgoing Renegade—166.6 inches—but slightly longer, bridging the gap between the Avenger and the new Compass.
Whenever Jeep launches the next model, fresh products are coming soon. Until the brand makes things official, this is everything we know about the next-generation Jeep Renegade.
What Will Jeep Call It?

Jeep could likely continue to use “Renegade” for its subcompact SUV. The nameplate joined the brand in 2014 under Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The Renegade rode on the FCA Wide 4×4 platform shared with small cars like the Fiat 500X.
Jeep sold the subcompact SUV in the United States for nearly a decade. The brand discontinued the model after the 2023 model year and hasn’t replaced it.

We based our rendering on the mysterious model Jeep teased earlier this year, with its boxy proportions and chiseled fenders. The front features the brand’s distinct, seven-slot grille with accent lighting.
The next-generation Renegade also has a split-headlight design like the pre-facelift, fifth-generation Cherokee KL. The headlights sit just above the bumper, and the SUV’s pronounced wheel arches are cladded for extra off-road protection.
What Platform Will It Ride On?
The new Jeep SUV will likely ride on Stellantis’ new STLA One platform, announced in May. It consolidates five different platforms into one scalable architecture that can accommodate B-, C-, and D-segment vehicles.
It is also a multi-energy architecture. Models using the platform can support gas, hybrid, and battery-electric powertrains. It’s Stellantis’ first platform that will feature steer-by-wire technology and its new STLA Brain and SmartCockpit technologies.

Stellantis’ new platform gives Jeep immense freedom in the SUV’s powertrain choices. The platform can accommodate combustion engines, full hybrids, and fully electric setups, and we expect the brand to offer more than one.
The entry-level model could have a small, turbocharged combustion engine, but a hybrid is likelier. The 2023 Renegade had a 177-horsepower turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder in the United States, and was available with a plug-in hybrid or diesel powertrain in other markets.
We don’t expect the new Jeep to have a diesel, but a hybrid variant is likely in development. Jeep launched a new hybrid in the 2026 Cherokee, which pairs a 1.6-liter engine with two electric motors.
Stellantis also has it has a smaller 1.2-liter hybrid engine it could also use. A fully electric version is also possible.
When Will It Debut?
Jeep hasn’t said exactly when it will launch its new SUVs in 2027, and it might miss that deadline. The only thing that the brand has confirmed is that its new models will launch by the end of the decade.
We would not be surprised if Jeep reveals the new models by early 2028, with production kicking off by 2029 at the latest. If it comes to the United States, we won’t see it until the early 2030s, if at all.
How Much Will It Cost?
If Jeep decides to sell a new Renegade in the United States, and that’s still unclear, it will likely have a starting price around $30,000. The 2023 Renegade, the model’s last year on sale in the US, started at around $30,000, but Jeep also sells the Compass, which is similarly priced.
The Compass, a compact SUV, is Jeep’s smallest offering on sale today, and it’s old, at least in the United States. Jeep still sells the second-generation model here, while other markets enjoy the third-generation model.
At the company’s investor day in May, Stellantis presented a roadmap that teased one new model for the brand’s US lineup, the Wrangler Scrambler. It’s a new pickup truck positioned below the Gladiator, and that’s it.
Jeep still listed the Compass alongside the rest of the brand’s expected lineup, so if it is coming back, it’s unclear exactly where it will fit.
