Used electric vehicles have sold faster than the wider UK used car market for three consecutive months, according to the latest data from Brego.
Its data shows that average EV days to sale remained at 35 days throughout June, July and August.
Over the same period, the market average stood at 39 days in June, 38.3 days in July and 38.6 days in August.
The trend continued despite growing used EV availability in recent months. EV advert volumes increased by 6.1% in July and a further 1.5% in August.
Tesla continued to dominate the best-selling EV rankings, occupying five of the Top 10 positions and taking the top two places with the Model Y Long Range and Model 3 Long Range.
Newer Chinese brands were also prominent among the fastest-selling EVs. The BYD Atto 3 Evo led the ranking at 8.8 days, followed by the Leapmotor B10 at 9.8 days and Leapmotor C10 at 11.4 days.
Rupert Pontin, head of insight and communications at Brego, said: “Used EVs have now sold faster than the wider used car market for three months in a row, which makes this a trend worth paying attention to rather than simply a one-month movement.
What is particularly interesting is that the 35-day average has been maintained while EV advert volumes increased in both July and August. That suggests there is healthy demand in the market for the right electric stock.
