Howard Motor Group continued to expand in 2025 as turnover rose 4% to £223.9m, although pre-tax profit fell 3.4% to £4.23m.

The group completed a major refurbishment of its Toyota dealership in Weston-super-Mare during the year.

It also introduced Leapmotor at its existing Stellantis showrooms in Taunton and Weston-super-Mare.

Howard expanded into Devon with the acquisition of two vacant showrooms in Barnstaple.

The first opened as a Kia dealership in July 2025. The second opened in January 2026 as a used car centre and authorised BMW and MINI repairer.

The group sold 3,662 new vehicles and 6,680 used vehicles during the year, compared with 3,631 and 6,461 respectively in 2024.

“Overall, our trading results continue to compare favourably with other motor trade dealership groups of our size,” the company said in accounts filed at Companies House.

“Our staff are key to the underlying success of the business. We are fortunate to have a dedicated and committed team who have helped to deliver these results and provide the level of service that our customers expect from us.

“We worked hard on staff retention in 2025 and are pleased to report that our staff turnover improved from 27% in 2024 to 22% in 2025.”

Howard operates across Weston-super-Mare, Taunton, Yeovil, Dorchester and Barnstaple.

It represents Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Peugeot, Citroën, Vauxhall, Honda, Suzuki, Fiat, Abarth, Leapmotor, Toyota and DS Automobiles.

It also operates dedicated used car centres and BMW and MINI authorised repair facilities.
