Snows Motor Group saw profits surge in 2025 as it shut its business in the Isle of Wight and pushed ahead with expansion with BUD.
The dealer group delivered pre-tax profits of £3.3m compared in the year to 31 December 2025 compared to £1.3m in the prior year on turnover up 8.4% to £796.7m.
Snows operates a network of 50-plus franchised car dealerships and four standalone Approved Servicing Centres across the South of England. It also has four Snows Used Car Outlets and a bodyshop.
“This increase in profitability is due to the increased revenue as a result of additional sites opened in the year and the increased gross margin due to the continued focus on profitable business in the year,” it said in results filed at Companies House.
In January 2025 it closed its Isle of Wight business, which included BMW, MINI, Fiat & Vauxhall, and subsequently sold the site in the May.
It also closed Fiat and Alfa Romeo dealerships in Southampton in January 2025 and Fiat and Jeep dealerships in Portsmouth in April 2025 and a Mazda dealership in Chichester in May 2025.
In April 2025 it opened a Vauxhall dealership in Portsmouth and in June 2025 Polestar dealership in Plymouth.
IT also opened four BYD dealerships Newbury, Chichester, Waterlooville and Honiton, taking its total BYD representation to six with the established Southampton dealership which opened in early 2024 and Basingstoke in December 2024.
It said the loss of various Stellantis FCA brands was countered by the dualling of five Stellantis Leapmotor dealerships at Basingstoke, Southampton, Romsey, Chichester & Portsmouth.
