The Hyundai Kona Electric has been approved for the full £3,750 grant as part of the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant scheme. Prices start from £35,000, reduced to £31,250 with the ECG applied.
Previously approved at the Band 2 level of £1,500, customers from today now benefit from an additional £2,250.
Ashley Andrew, president at Hyundai Motor UK, said: “The KONA Electric has always offered one of the most compelling combinations of range, practicality and value in its class, and now it’s greater value than ever.
“The £3,750 grant is a meaningful contribution towards the cost of going electric, and the first step to welcoming more models from our line-up into the scheme as the year progresses.”
The enhanced grant follows a successful review of the environmental credentials of the Kona Electric’s supply chain and manufacturing process.
Hyundai continues to support customers with its 0% APR finance offer. The KONA Electric is available to order now.
The current second-generation KONA Electric is available with two battery options: a standard range 48.4kWh powertrain delivering 156PS, and a long range 65.4kWh powertrain offering 218PS, with a WLTP range of up to 319 miles.
