The Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA) is to put the spotlight on battery technology, testing, repair and recycling.

The issue will come under scrutiny at its next member meeting planned for Thursday 24 September at Wilson’s Auctions in Queensferry, near Chester,

Speakers include Robin Brundle, co-founder, Recyclus who will speak on battery recycling.

Antonia Stephenson, director of operations for EV Battery Solutions and Cox Automotive Europe, will speak on battery repair.

And Nikolaus Mayerhofer, chief technology officer, Aviloo, will cover high-voltage flash batteries.

Philip Nothard, chair at the VRA, said: “Volumes of EVs entering the used market are increasing while, at the same time, those that are already part of the vehicle parc are ageing.

“This raises a whole series of questions for the remarketing sector at all points in the lifecycle of an EV battery. At this meeting, we’ll be seeking to answer as many of these as possible with help from some of the UK and Europe’s leading experts.”
