Chinese brands lead the UK registration figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

Jaecoo has grown its market share by 2.19 percentage points, according to year-to-date data, to 2.99%.

Victor Zhang, managing director of Omoda & Jaecoo UK, said: “Achieving another strong month of sales here in the UK proves that the appetite for these cars is continuing to grow. Almost 10,000 registrations in June reflects the increasing awareness of our brands and the confidence that customers have in our products, our retailer partners and our long-term commitment to the UK market.

“The continued success of our models, especially the JAECOO 7, and now alongside the more compact OMODA 5, demonstrates the strength and breadth of our product offering.

“With three models in the top ten best-selling cars for June, and as we continue to grow, our focus remains firmly on delivering exceptional customer experiences, expanding our network and bringing even more innovative products to the market.”

BYD followed, taking 3.32% market share achieved through a 1.46 percentage point increase.

Jaecoo’s sister brand Omoda increased its market share to 1.65%, an improvement of around 1 percentage point.

MG achieved its strongest June sales result, selling 10,395 cars. The brand took 4.28% market share, with a percentage point increase of +0.19.

Other brands such as Citroën, MINI, Suzuki, Tesla, and MG also performed well.
