Chinese brands surged once again in April, building sales and market share for new car sales.
Leapmotor saw a four-fold increase in sales to 580 units for the month while Jaecoo rocketed 268% to 3,877 vehicles and sister brand Omoda was up 260% to 3,275 units.
BYD doubled its sales for the month, up 101% to 5,059 units.
Meanwhile, there was a big push from Stellantis brands Citroen and Fiat who saw sales up 167% and 145% to 2,558 and 708 units respectively.
Mini saw sales rose 90% to 4,774 units in April, Tesla was up 62.3% to 831 units for the month, Cupra increased 53% to 3,372 units and Suzuki 30% to 1,321 sales.
At the other end of the table Seat fell -57.1% to 790 units in April while Mazda was down -26.9% to 1,126 sales.
Nissan fell 166.7% to 4,079 units, Peugeot was adrift 9.2% to 5,368 sales while Dacia fell 9% to 1,798 units. Hyundai, Toyota and Honda fell 6.9%, 6% and 4.2% respectively for the month.
The top selling car in April was the Ford Puma which sold 4,211 cars, followed by the Kia Sportage (3,645, Nissan Qashqai (2,846) Volkswagen Golf (2,845) and Mini Cooper (2,577).
