Average EV prices dropped by over £2,000 before rising in second half of 2025, according to Marketcheck.

The month-by-month breakdown of average used electric vehicle (EV) prices revealed a sharp price drop in the H1, followed by a mirrored rise in H2.

Alastair Campbell, Marketcheck UK, said: “2025 was a year of two halves for used EV pricing. The early months saw a steep and consistent drop in values as supply increased and pricing adjusted to market realities. But from September onward, prices began to climb back up.

“The stabilisation around the £23,000 mark suggests a maturing market, where growing consumer demand is meeting a wider and more affordable range of electric vehicles. Marketcheck will continue to analyse the developing used EV market.”

In January 2025, the average last listed price for a used EV was £24,353.

Prices then declined steadily to reach a low of £22,162 in August.

From September to December, prices climbed back, with month-on-month increases.

By the end of the year, the average price had risen to £23,642.
