Evans Halshaw has relocated its BYD Birmingham dealership to a significantly larger site.
The new site in Erdington opened on 2 January, replacing the existing Digbeth location.
Robert Hamilton, Market Area Director of Evans Halshaw BYD, said: “The relocation of Evans Halshaw BYD Birmingham marks an important step in our journey with the brand.
“Demand for BYD vehicles and EV options continues to grow, and moving to a larger site allows us to better serve our customers with more choice, improved facilities and a stronger operational presence.
“Opening our eighth site reflects the scale of opportunity we see with BYD, positioning Evans Halshaw strongly to support future growth as more drivers make the move to electric.”
The new store will provide a much larger and more modern facility designed to support BYD’s expanding model range and growing market presence.
The site enables Evans Halshaw to significantly grow its used car offering, giving customers greater choice across both new and pre-owned electric vehicles.
In addition to increased stock levels, the relocation allows for a larger operational team and enhanced customer facilities, including expanded sales, test drive and aftersales capabilities.
The move sees all current Evans Halshaw staff from the Birmingham store retained.
The move marks a change of franchise at the site, with BYD taking over from Audi, which was part of Evans Halshaw’s sister business, Stratstone.
The changes come as part of Lithia UK’s strategic realignment of its brand portfolio in response to the growing demand for electric vehicles.
Evans Halshaw has announced the opening of its eighth BYD store. The new BYD location, situated in Bury, Greater Manchester.
