Arnold Clark surprised a customer with £30,000 towards a new car thanks to her fundraising efforts in this year’s Dundee Kiltwalk.
Maisie Robertson was automatically entered into the draw. The 25-year-old, along with her mum, Laura, completed the 20-mile Mighty Stride to raise money for the Maggie’s Dundee centre.
Russell Borrie, Chief Executive Officer at Arnold Clark, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to hand over £30,000 of credit towards a new car to this year’s Dundee Kiltwalk Car Reward winner, Maisie.
“Supporting Kiltwalk allows us to champion remarkable fundraisers like Maisie while helping vital charities across Scotland continue their life-changing work.
“Congratulations once again and we hope you enjoy your new car!”
Maisie raised over £1,200 for Maggie’s cancer care charity, who supported her mum through a recent health scare with free practical, emotional and psychological support.
Arnold Clark, Kiltwalk’s headline sponsor, donated an additional £500 to the charity.
Maisie was invited to an Arnold Clark branch in Dundee to meet a representative from Maggie’s for a cheque handover. She later realised that she had also won £30,000 of car credit.
She said: “It’s crazy, I’m so shocked. I never expected it, it’s been a great surprise,” Maisie admitted.
“It’s great to have the extra donation for Maggie’s as well, they deserve every penny. My mum used Maggie’s while going through a cancer scare last Christmas.
“Thankfully, her breast lump was not cancerous, but she attended Maggie’s for a bit of advice and reassurance during the process and they were very helpful and supportive. That’s why we walked together for Maggie’s, we wanted to give something back.”
