2026 Infiniti QX60 spied with updates

By automotive-mag.com 2 Min Read

Infiniti has been spotted testing prototypes of an updated version of its QX60.

The update constitutes a mid-cycle refresh for the three-row midsize SUV, which first arrived for the 2022 model year. Expect the updated version to launch for the 2026 model year, meaning a debut late this year or early next year is likely.

The updated QX60 is being developed alongside a new but related model called the QX65. Prototypes of the QX65 are also out testing, revealing that a coupe-like design is planned. This relationship mirrors that of the QX50 and QX55 compact crossovers, which Infiniti will reportedly phase out soon.

Judging by our spy shots, the updates to the QX60 will be relatively mild on the exterior. A new grille with vertical slats—similar to the redesigned 2025 QX80—will appear on both the QX60 and the upcoming QX65. New fascia designs at both ends and possibly new wheel patterns are also expected.

Inside, the design appears largely unchanged from the current QX60 cabin. However, according to our photographer, several cameras were mounted on the windshield, with another near the steering wheel to monitor the digital instrument cluster, plus additional cameras on the rear wheel arches. This suggests that Infiniti may be testing a more advanced version of its ProPilot automated driver-assist system.

Few mechanical changes are expected. Infiniti recently replaced the previous 3.5-liter V-6 with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 on the 2025 QX60. The new engine is rated at 268 hp, down from the V-6’s 295 hp, but towing capacity remains unchanged at 6,000 pounds. A 9-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive, with available all-wheel drive, complete the drivetrain package.

Stay tuned for updates as development continues.
