Waylands Volvo Reading has made a donation to a local charity to support those working in the automotive industry struggling with their health.

It recently welcomed Jonathan Ramsey from the charity, Ben – Support for Life, to its showroom, to present the charity with a cheque for £720.

The amount was raised by six of the car retailer’s team members, who each ran at this year’s Binfield 10K, which Waylands Volvo Reading was the main sponsor of. The funds were raised from donations made by the local community and the car retailer’s loyal customers.

Ben – Support for Life offers support and advice for people working in the automotive industry who are in crisis or need help with their mental and physical health or wellbeing.

Daryl Best, general manager at Waylands Volvo Reading, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the team who took part in this year’s Binfield 10K to raise an impressive amount for such a worthy cause.

“Ben – Support for Life offers an invaluable service for those working in the automotive industry, making this donation even more important to every Waylands team member.

“We understand that so many people struggle with their mental health in silence, and the team wanted to contribute to the charity’s remarkable efforts so they can continue to help create a support system for those who need it the most.

“The generosity and enthusiasm of everyone who supported the team’s efforts has been truly appreciated and we look forward to continuing to support local community groups.”
