The Armchair Show releases first episode with media partner Motor Trader

In partnership with The Armchair Show, Motor Trader’s first podcast episode is now available to watch. The episode explores the vision behind the Motor Trader Commercial Industry Awards, which is taking place tonight the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

The awards night follows on from the first day of the highly successful, long-established Commercial Vehicle Show which is being held at the NEC, Birmingham.

The podcast also features an announcement for the launch of the inaugural Motor Trader Women in Motor Industry Awards (WiMIA), set to take place on 4 December 2025 at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London.

WiMIA will shine a spotlight on the outstanding achievements of women across every part of the motor industry — from commercial vehicles to motor retailing — celebrating the talent, innovation, and leadership shaping the future of the sector.

We also discussed Motor Trader’s recurring Women in Automotive feature. The first of which featured Sue Robinson (CEO of the National Franchised Dealers Association), Jacqui Barker (OEM strategy director at technology group Keyloop), Kate Clay (eStar Truck & Van) and Sally Foote (COO of Sell My Car at Carwow).

The news segment of the podcast focused on the UK Government’s updates to the ZEV Mandate which aim to support carmakers.
