SEAT Leon to undergo technical and technological upgrades

The SEAT Leon is due to undergo technical and technological upgrades this month, specs will be announced at a later date.

Designed, developed, and produced in Barcelona at the brand’s Martorell facilities, the upgraded SEAT Leon has new engines. This includes a new 1.5 TSI engine as well as an eHybrid plug-in hybrid engine.

Wayne Griffiths, CEO of Seat, said: “The SEAT Leon remains essential in the brand’s strategy, carving out a successful path, allowing it to embrace new technologies.

“The expanded engine line-up, including a new generation eHybrid and digital technologies continue its evolving journey.”

The new generation of eHybrid engines (plug-in hybrid) is now available for the SEAT Leon, delivering 204PS (150kW)/350Nm. It combines a 1.5-litre TSI 150PS (110kW) petrol engine, 115PS (85kW) electric motor and 19.7kWh lithium-ion net battery pack. The upgrade provides customers with an electric-only range of over 100km.

Technological upgrades in the exterior include new optional matrix LED headlamps, available for the first time in SEAT’s hatchback.
