Pentagon Motor Group, part of Motus Group (UK), is to represent BYD in Warrington.

It already has BYD in Lincoln, Derby and Nottingham, is opening another in Burton and now plans its fifth in Warrington.

David Peel, Pentagon managing director, said, “We are truly delighted with our expanding BYD relationship.

“Public and fleet interest and sales at Lincoln set an early trend for us. Since then, we have been seeing similar strong performances at Derby and Nottingham, with Burton and now Warrington confidently expected to follow suit.

“BYD sales in the first quarter are already well ahead of 2024 total sales, and the brand has strong ambitions for the rest of 2025. Ambitions I have no doubt they will hit.”

The new Warrington BYD facility will sit along existing Ford new and used car sales and service.

To streamline its Ford operations and free up space for BYD, Pentagon’s Ford Transit Centre at Warrington moves to the company’s Runcorn site, where it will operate as a stand-alone Transit Centre alongside Pentagon’s Ford used car sales and car and LCV service.

Peel said: “Ford is the market leader in light commercial vehicles, and we want our operations to reflect that.

“The Runcorn development will ensure great Ford Light commercial vehicle Sales and aftersales representation in the area, for customers both private and commercial.

“Today, no business can stand still, and we are fortunate in Pentagon to have a portfolio of leading brands and the financial operating base to allow us to be agile in a moving market to support those brands as and when required.”
