Mad Devs has partnered with digital identity specialist APLYiD to integrate biometric verification into dealer sales systems with the aim of reducing fraud risk and facilitating compliance with financial regulations.

The integration will bring APLYiD’s technology into iStoreDOCS, allowing dealerships to complete ID checks within seconds.

Adrian Favill, director at Mad Devs, said: “Fraud prevention and compliance are top of the agenda for UK dealers. Our partnership with APLYiD gives dealers confidence they are meeting their obligations without slowing the sales process, protecting both business and customer.”

Car retailers are not subject to full anti-money laundering (AML) rules, but identity checks are a legal requirement for finance agreements under the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

Many still rely on manual ‘lamp and stamp’ processes. The new system promises faster onboarding, more accurate biometric and data checks, and real-time screening against sanctions lists, all within existing dealer workflows.

Jack Vale, UK general manager at APLYiD, added: “ID checks that once took minutes can now be done in seconds, with far greater accuracy. It reduces risk, saves time and delivers a more professional buying journey. Our integration with the Connect platform will ensure that thousands of dealers across the UK can benefit from this leading-edge technology.”

Mad Devs’ technology supports over 35% of the UK’s largest dealers.
