Jardine Motors wins EDI accolade at IMI Awards

Jardine Motors Group was awarded the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) accolade at the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) 2024 Awards.

The Group represents 14 premium and luxury brands across more than 50 locations, with over 2,800 employees in operational and support roles and has an ED&I Steering Group. In addition, it visits local schools to inspire students from diverse backgrounds to consider careers in the industry.

Steve Nash, CEO of the IMI said: “Automotive is experiencing an ongoing skills shortage, on top of other industry-wide challenges which makes the endeavours of this year’s award winners even more poignant, as they showcase the opportunities and innovations that exist within our varied and inspiring sector.

“Our chosen winners are inspirational in their commitment to learning and enthusiasm for their work. Coming from a wide range of backgrounds and with a variety of previous experience they clearly demonstrate the breadth of opportunity within automotive.

“From hands-on mechanical repairs to technical work on advanced electrical systems, as well as roles outside of the workshop, the motor industry is open to all.”

Thatcham Research won Partner of the Year and Alison Ross MBE, chief people & operations director at Auto Trader UK won Inspiring Automotive Woman’s Award.

Gavin White, co-founder of Autotech Group, received the Outstanding Contribution to the Motor Industry Award while Ronnie Wilson MBE, CEO of First Step Trust won The President’s Award and the Sue Brownson Award for creating further work experience, training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged people.
