Chinese car brand Xpeng plans to have 20 dealerships in the UK by year-end. The company has teamed up with distributor International Motors to drive UK sales.
The first car to come to the UK is the all-electric mid-size SUV Xpeng G6, with prices starting at £39,990 and deliveries beginning March 2025.
Xpeng kicked off its European expansion entering Norway in 2021 and then expanded into Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Ireland and now the UK.
By year-end it plans to have a presence in 60 countries and regions.
Founded in 2014, XPENG has sold 620,000 vehicles worldwide. In January 2025, it partnered with Volkswagen and BP Pulse to create a super-fast charging network.
“Our launch in the UK, in partnership with International Motors Ltd (IML), marks a significant step in Xpeng’s European and global expansion,” said Dr Brian Gu, vice chair and president of Xpeng.
International Motors has been distributing cars in the UK for half a century.
